Costa Rica Team Update - July 3
After a total of five and a half hours of delay because of the gulf hurricane, we have finally arrived in Costa Rica! We ended up staying in the Phoenix airport until about 3:30 pm, when we were supposed to leave by 10am. We boarded the plane, and sat there for about an hour, until we received word that the Houston airport was shut down until after the storm had passed.
We arrived in Houston around 5:30, ate some dinner, and then after moving to a few different gates, boarded a plane for Costa Rica, and arrived at 2am. Our EFCA Host leader, Cali, was there to pick us up in the van, and we finally arrived at the hotel in San Jose and went to bed around 3:00am.
Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel, and then drove 4 hours up into the mountains to San Carlos. We are staying at the same hotel as last year, which thankfully has wi-fi, so we can stay in touch with our family and friends and continue to give you these reports.
We rested for a few hours, and then drove to our destination of Maranatha Church. It is here we will be hosting our VBS program this week. We participated in their local youth service, and then stayed and talked with so many of the familiar faces we remembered from last year!
Please pray that we will get plenty of sleep, and that we will be able to be prepared for delivering the VBS program in a fun and effective manner starting Monday morning!
In His care,
Grace Costa Rica Team
